Welcome to the launch of my tenth consecutive year of the Pictures-A-Week exercise. The self assignment program is training in the same terms as a trip to the gym for physical training. Seeing pictures and capturing them quickly requires exercise and practice. It keeps the eye and hand supple and ready for the capture. Last year I began using it to promote physical conditioning by tracking and increasing the amount and pace of walking I do during my photo hunts.
The first week of the year included a holiday, so I actually got to do a picture-dedicated road trip. I rode down to Pamlico County with my friend Landon, just to see what we could see. On my return to work, I got my walking done in downtown Raleigh, one of my favorite photo playgrounds.
I’m looking forward to another year and hope you will join me here for my walks and share my views of my little world.
