North Carolina’s Bill Lyerly returns to the Tar Heel State to visit family, old friends, and to refill his soul with the Southern mists that make our music resonate in the heart and set our feet to work with the rhythms.
Bill’s final engagement of his 2013 visit was at Papa Mojo’s Roadhouse in Durham on March 15. There, he was joined by owner Mel Melton for a blues evening premiering The Red Hot Chorizo Brothers, a moniker they adopted during some fun playing last year. For the set, they added Adam Jenkins on bass and invited special guest vocalist Logie Meachum. It bluesier set than Bill’s usual.
The above is the my first music video of the performance. Bill shared the audio that is combined here with my photos.
