Some years back, my sister Dee gave me a ceramic camera birdhouse. For a while, i was too protective of it to hang it outside to let the birds have a shot at it.
A couple of years ago, I compromised with my little winged friends. I hung the folding camera lookalike on the front of the house, under the porch. A bold chickadee finally moved in this spring and successfully fledged a nest.
Here’s the last guy out, I think the day of his departure. I’m sure his mother admonished him about cobwebs on his face as soon as he got into the yard. Maybe she took him to the birdbath in the backyard to make him more presentable.
Actually, he looks a little pissed here. Typical kid, grumpy about getting up and out of the house.
