Okay, so I’m shallow. To this day nearly 40 years later, scanning and preparing these photos, I am still deeply disappointed that Leon Russell showed up with a shag haircut and mustache instead of his (still today) signature full white beard and pure straight, shoulder blade length white hair.

I was REALLY looking forward to Leon Russell’s visit to the Triangle back in 1971, I was  huge fan, hell, I even had the Asylum Choir album.
