For the 224th time, the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free & Accepted Mason of North Carolina installed their officers for the year. This year’s ceremony was held in the old House chamber of the State Capitol, the cornerstone of which was set by the same fraternity in 1833.
Lewis Ledford joined a long line of men who have led the fraternity in the Tarheel State. Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world. North Carolina’s Grand Lodge was established in 1787, nearly 40 years after its first lodges began operating. It currently has 46,000 members in 375 lodge across the state.
