The first place I ever had a press pass was at UNC-Greensboro. A friend of a friend was an editor on the college paper. She gave me a pass to cover a couple of concerts: Delaney and Bonnie and Friends and, the one seen here, Gordon Lightfoot.
“If You Could Read My Mind,” “Rainy Day People,” “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” and “Sundown” are a few of the many memorable songs from this baritone with a 12-string. The Ontario native perhaps best defines the folk tradition as it lived in the 1970s.
