Last night, in Little Washington’s Turnage Theater, we had the best time. A New Vaudeville Revue was presented by the Deplorable Folly Players. For more than two hours, Washington entertainers kept their neighbors smiling and applauding with singing, playing, dancing, and comedy routines. It was clear that the performers had as much fun as the audience.
A number of old friends were in the cast of the variety show, so I was looking forward to seeing them again. But, sitting and watching is always hard for me. They were kind enough to let me wander around backstage with my camera. I enjoyed the adrenaline electricity of the acts moving around preparing to perform. I got to see their energy level rise as the boredom or jitters gave way to the rush of the curtain opening.
For you photo buffs, I packed the speedbag for the event: Leica M8, CV Nokton 35mm/1.2, Noctilux 50mm/1.0, and Summicron 90mm/2.0.
