Last Friday, I headed to the North Carolina State Fair to take pictures for an article I will do on Earl Wells. Earl has a tractor pulling team, an interesting cross between brute power and drag racing. Earl’s 16-year-old granddaughter drives one of the tractors on his team. You’ll see them together in several frames in this collection.

As with many self-assignments,  I took the opportunity to enjoy myself and better educate myself. Earl is a Freemason, as are two other members of his team. But I unexpectedly came across two more Masons competing - Shrimp Perry with his modified truck and Daryl Cash on his jet tractor.

Included are three videos shot with my Lumix. One will prove that I am not as dedicated as I need to be to my profession. Kept shooting, but quit worrying about framing when one puller headed too much my way.
