John Wadsworth and I made our basketball game for the year today -- UNC Tar Heels versus Boston College. The Heels managed to squeak one out, not looking good, but being good enough. A low scoring, two-point win -- yuck.
But I had a great time anyway. I got some visiting with baby daughter Beth before, during, and after the game. Sitting on the same row with me was an old neighbor from Clark Court in Chapel Hill (Kitty Harrison who was UNC Women’s Tennis coach 1976-1998). At halftime, the 1971 (my senior year) NIT Championship Basketball Team was saluted. Meeting my shuttle bus, I ran into D. G. Martin (columnist) and Lefty Driesell (famed Maryland & Davidson basketball coach).
