The Furthur Festival visited Raleigh in 1996. Los Lobos was an early act. What a wonderful East LA band they are. The Mexican-American roots-rock band has been performing since the 1970s.

The Furthur Festival was Grateful Dead centric bands thumbing their noses at death. Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia died the previous year. Several of the Dead’s spin-off bands and former members were on the bill.
