This was the second year for Hopscotch Music Festival. More than 135 bands played downtown Raleigh in three days (September 8-10). Others played at free events around town. Whatever corner you rounded, there were musicians slogging toward work and the sounds of other bands already at work.

Many of the bands are local, spawned in the Research Triangle college communities in Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham.
