Bill Lyerly is still hopping around North Carolina while he is visiting home. We’re enjoying seeing him while he’s here. We saw him at the Sunnyside Oyster Bar a few weeks ago. Just last weekend, he was playing at the Aviator Tap House in Fuquay Varina.

He played another great show with his tight trio with Dexter Horton on drums and Jason D. Smith on bass. Guest musicians were bass players Jordan Koronet and Alan Hicks and guitarist Alfred “Wolfman” Ward. Horton and Ward have both played with Super Grit Cowboy Band. Hicks played with Super Grit and backed David Allan Coe. Koronet was bass player for four years in the previous incarnation of the Bill Lyerly Band.
