Independence Day weekend of 1970, I attended my third and final large music festival the Second Atlanta International Pop Festival. It was the only one at which I carried a camera. The others two were first Atlanta Pop Festival and Woodstock.

I rode with Chip Upjohn, a friend from Operation Switchboard - but that’s another story -- and not a short one. Camping was in a pecan grove near Middle Georgia Raceway. Attendance estimates ran from 350,000 to a half million. The bill included the Allman Brothers (twice), Chambers Brothers, Spirit, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, Poco, Ravi Shankar, Ten Years After, and more.
