WASHINGTON -- Summer Festival has been held in Washington for a number of years now. They gather downtown on the Pamilco Riverfront and enjoy the smells and sounds and friendliness of small town eastern North Carolina.

The lady above is appreciating Ray Warren’s rendition of “Unchained Melody” with the Craig Woolard Band. Craig is a beach music (Coastal Carolina version) mainstay and a native of Little Washington. (His sister Suzanne was Kitty’s college roommate and is a first rate, standup gal!)

Ray Warren, who appeared with them for one song, was in bands with Craig in their younger years. He is an old and dear friend of mine (and my Masonic coach).
