First draft, fragmentary
First draft, fragmentary
Summer hits its stretch here. Emily is home for a couple of weeks before heading to grad school. It’s almost time for Beth to return to Carolina for her junior year and her first apartment. Cars are shuffled and replaced. Result: Tired of saying “Maybe green next time,” Ric gets the new wheels, Prius c, hybrid time. I call it my sheep in wolf’s clothing.
Otherwise, it’s a more normal flow to the world. Garner to Raleigh each morning. Maybe some time downtown in the capitol city. Back to Garner in the afternoon. Weekends, Kitty is here or Ric’s in Washington depending on what’s happening.
