First draft, fragmentary
First draft, fragmentary
Back to the old, familiar grind. The girls are back in school. Kitty and the pups are in Little Washington. I’m getting a little jealous of her retirement.
Still doing my invisible exercise. It started as pictures-a-week to keep photo skills limber. Needed to walk regularly to improve health. Hated to just walk, it seemed like such a waste of time. Then I realized I should just combine them. At lunch or after work, I now stop in town, yank out a camera, set my Nike walk app on my iPhone to remind me what I’m doing, and take pictures. I usually get a mile or three in before breaking it off. I’m feeling better and losing a few pounds of my Santa girth. AND, I get to meet lots of interesting folks and see things that entertain my brain.
For instance, there’s Phoneman above. He’s walking around talking on his cellphone. I asked him what it took to use a phone like that. He said, “A big head. I can’t use a earpiece because the microphone won’t pick up around my head. Then I figured I could use my big head to hold the phone.” He laughs and goes on with his phone conversation.
Who could ask for anything more?
