Also known as the Historic Thousands on Jones Street People’s Assembly, this year’s Moral March  was the largest and featured more interests than previous. It was the first since the 2013 Moral Monday demonstrations at the General Assembly. During those weeks, nearly 1,000 peaceful demonstrators were arrested in their protest of the unbridled right wing action of North Carolina’s new Republican government.

Kitty and I attended yesterday’s gathering. The broad variety of demonstrators was astonishing. All races, social classes, ages, and sexes were there to ask to be heard and respected.

A gallery of more than 120 photos is here. The slideshow feature may be the best way to see them all.
